LONDON (Reuters) - Major British and U.S. companies are focusing on a return to revenue growth in 2010 over cost-cutting, and IT is central to their recovery strategies, according to a survey by consultants Gartner.
Shipments of notebook computers leapt 43 percent in the first quarter, their highest year-on-year growth in eight years, driven by consumer demand for netbooks, IT research firm Gartner said on Tuesday.
Gartner says one out of every four server workloads will be in a virtual machine by the end of 2010, and that enterprises should attempt to double or triple the size of their virtualization deployments.
