According to Engadget HD, Vimeo is now hosting over one million videos, and 10% of those are high-definition. A quote in the article refers to Vimeo as "the largest repository of high-definition video anywhere in the world."
I love that I'm able to upload my HD content to the site, and though it lacks some of the features I dig about competitor site Viddler, the HD feature trumps them all.

The launch of Google's Chrome browser a little over a year ago brought with it a mountain of hype and expectations, with some suggesting it could be as instantly disruptive and beneficial as Gmail was to the Web mail market.
After all, here was Google opening another front against Microsoft with a big and bold move, and also turning into a competitor to its close partner Mozilla, maker of Firefox, the darling browser of techies worldwide.

That's the "glass is half full" attitude we like, Verizon -- always looking for a way to sign a few more of those lucrative data contracts, no matter the circumstances! Turns out Big Red is tipping off its staffers on how it can encourage customers to go with the WiFi-only version of the iPad and pair it up with a device like the
MiFi rather than shelling out $130 more for integrated AT&T 3G and waiting a few extra weeks. As usual, Verizon's keen on playing up the anti-AT&T sentiment it's cultivated in its recent ad campaign by openly calling its biggest competitor's 3G network "overloaded," but we see one big hangup: 5GB of data on a Verizon MiFi is going to run you $60 a month, twice as much as AT&T will be charging for its dedicated, unlimited iPad plan. Then again,
AT&T's own boss thinks WiFi's a bigger deal than 3G for this thing, so who knows -- maybe this is a zero-sum game for both of these guys.
[Thanks, Mark]

Verizon Wireless may be launching Long Term Evolution ahead of AT&T in 38 markets later this year, but that didn't stop AT&T from taking pot shots at its competitor.
